Supporting Ben and His Family After a Serious Injury

On Sunday 7th December, Ben suffered a devastating injury while playing for our local Sunday League team, AFC Mallard. During the match, Ben broke both his tibia and fibula in his left leg.

Ben was left lying on a frozen, sub-zero temperature pitch in extreme pain for over two hours, while paramedics worked carefully to stabilise him and move him safely. Since then, Ben has spent 7 days in hospital, waiting to undergo surgery to repair the damage to his leg.

Following his operation on Monday 16th December, Ben has been be fitted with a metal cage and faces a long road to recovery once he can go home. During this time, he will be unable to work, placing a significant financial strain on him and his family. Ben, his partner, and their young son now face mounting costs while Ben focuses on healing.

Our team, AFC Mallard feel terrible for Ben and so we are fundraising to support Ben and his family during this incredibly difficult period. Anyone who knows Ben knows that if the roles were reversed, he would be the first to donate.

We are asking, if you are able, to please give whatever you can , every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference.

To raise additional funds, the AFC Mallard team will be completing a sponsored 5k run on Sunday 21st December at 11am, with all the proceeds going directly to Ben to support him throughout his recovery.
