It’s Raining Bens n’ Friends
A charity skydive powered by pure BENergy!
I'm joining a full team of Bens and friends and will be taking the leap to raise money for causes that genuinely matter.
For this jump, I am proud to be supporting Friends of Serenity, a charity that supports families facing the heartbreaking realities of miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss and life-limiting conditions such as Trisomy 13.
Friends of Serenity supported my wife and I back in 2016 through bereavement and they had previously funded a specialist suite for all to use at Burnley General Hospital.
This space enabled us to spend time and say goodbye to our son, Oliver, who was simply born too early, but that space and time given to us meant a better healing process over the coming months and years.
Now, to celebrate the year Oliver would have turned 10, I've decided to go way out my comfort zone and fall from the sky with some other Ben's (& friends) who are all supporting their own personal charities.
This fundraiser is organised by COBWOB Community Interest Company (aka The Council of Bens), bringing people together through community events, challenges and slightly ridiculous ideas that end up doing a lot of good.
How the fundraiser works
Each skydiver has a £500 fundraising target. Once that target is reached, the £240 skydive cost for that participant will be covered.
All remaining funds raised will be donated to Friends of Serenity to help support families through pregnancy complications, baby loss and life-limiting diagnoses, while also funding specialist equipment and facilities that improve care for patients and families.
All donations from this campaign will be received and managed by COBWOB Community Interest Company, who are organising the skydive event.
Why donate?
Because watching 20 people willingly fall from the sky should at least raise some money for good causes.
Every donation, big or small helps push the total higher and increases the amount we can give back to the charities doing important work every day.
So whether you're here to support a friend, back an incredible cause, or simply want to sponsor a falling human…
Thank you!
Funds raised will be used to:
• Cover the cost of the charity skydive for participants (£240 per skydiver)
• Donate all remaining funds to Friends of Serenity to support families and improve bereavement care and facilities
