Ben and the Friends of Rwanda
Do you want to make a difference?
In May I will be travelling to Rwanda as part of a group of six players and coaches from Shelford and Cambridge Rugby Club, coming together to support a truly inspiring cause. We will be traveling to Rwanda to support Friends of Rwandan Rugby as they continue their mission to use sport as a tool to heal and impact the social wounds from the 1994 genocide.
This GoFundMe page is my fundraising page. Any contributions here will directly support the efforts to fundraise for the charity. I am committed and eager to support the important work of FoRR and your donations no matter how small can get us closer to my fundraising target.
Who are Friends of Rwandan Rugby (FoRR)?
A small and innovative charity, Friends of Rwandan Rugby teaches rugby to children and young adults across the country. They aim to promote reconciliation, health, and well-being by using the values of rugby to build trust, friendships and foster shared experiences on the field. Following the 1994 genocide, the social wounds left by conflict and upheaval continue to impact the country as it develops and the communities within. FoRR works with rugby development officers and the Rwanda Rugby Federation to implement and grow the infrastructure which supports school and grassroot rugby in rural areas, providing access to thousands of children all over the nation.
We will also been looking to collect donations of any club kit you don’t need anymore, shirts, boots, balls, kit bags. Please contact me if you would like to contribute.
