We have wanted to be parents for as long as we can remember. While we had discussed adoption early on in their marriage, we were unsure of the timing. After trying to have children for several years, we decided the most natural next step was to grow our family through adoption.

We have been in the process of adopting for over a year now, and have faced more financial barriers than we initially expected. We are very excited to be advocating for a sibling group of 3 kids in Colombia! While we are very excited, this stage of the process has brought impending timelines for payments. In addition, these payments are significantly larger than we initially expected because there are multiple children. Specifically, our next invoice is over $14,000, with an additionally fee of $1,200 for the international pediatric review. This is on top of the $31,000 we have already spent. The adoption process has exhausted the loans we initially took out to pay for this, so we are hoping for a little extra help. If donations exceed the upcoming $15,200 we will use the additional funds for the travel to/stay in Colombia, as well as paying off the already incurred debt.
