Manuel Rivera’s life completed on June 3, 2023.

Manuel Artiga Rivera, our beloved gardener extraordinaire and dear friend to so many.

Manuel’s life was completed on the eve of June 3, 2023.

Our gentle agreeable Manual with his wonderful smile was such a trustworthy and kind person in our lives. It seems so many wanted to offer kindness and thanks to him in his time of need.

He was born in El Salvador as one of 16 children. As a teenager he knew the experience of his country in civil war. Manuel chose to find a better life and travelled, mostly by foot to Marin.

The wonderful Lee family provided him with his first job four decades ago and he always loves going there as much to visit the Lee’s as to offer help on the ranch.

Saga and Fred are the most dear friends, again more than 40 years.

The Baum family too, also 40 years.

His long standing caring relationships are a common theme.

He became a U.S. citizen decades ago. However, he always has loved his birth country and travels back there to visit friends and family at least annually.

His relatives from ES as well as local friends have asked how to help with his care here in the US and follow on support for his treasured daughter Vivi, now age 6.

Manuel would have never asked for this help. But it is our time to honor the man we knew and adored and offer needed support to him.
