One year after Hurricane Helene, Western NC is still in recovery mode. What better way to tell the story of recovery than through local music! After the Flood: Songs Inspired by Hurricane Helene is a benefit compilation of Western NC artists. 100% of the net proceeds will go to supporting continued Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.. In the spring of 2025, the call went out that Experience Music was looking for original songs that were inspired by the events of Hurricane Helene. Over 70 songs were submitted with 16 ultimately being selected including well-known local artists such as Andrew Scotchie, Hustle Souls, Jeff Sipe (New Dawn Starkestra, Aquarium Rescue Unit), Chuck Brodsky, Jordan Scheffer/Chinobay, McKinney, and Abby Bryant to name just a few. Likewise, After the Flood includes songs from local artists that may not be as well-known but certainly just as talented and inspired. Twelve of the sixteen songs were recorded locally at Landslide Studio in North Asheville.
