#BekahStrong2024!

Hi, My name is Makenna Modlin! On June 25th, 2024, my mother Rebekah Powell was diagnosed with breast cancer. After many scans and long road trips down to Omaha, NE, my mom decided surgery would be the way to go, and while that seems like an easy fix, there's still so much more left unseen.
My mom is the strongest, most God-fearing woman I have ever met and since hearing about her new diagnosis she has continued to put everyone before herself. My mother has the most beautiful soul, her love is strong and her desire to pursue the Lord is even stronger. As her daughter, it was a little hard to hear that the healthiest person I know has cancer. My whole life my mom has prioritized her health, from running daily, eating healthy and getting her daily dose of Jesus, she has inspired many people close to her to stay healthy as well.
I truly believe my mom deserves the world and if there was any way I could take this away from her then I would. So, I made this page in secret with a little help from some close family members to show my mom just how loved and cared for she is. Medical expenses are so unbelievably outrageous. Through the stress of this life altering surgery and the stress she has already acquired; I was hoping to pick up some pieces, so she won’t have to carry them alone. I believe the best way to do that was to allow her to heal without worrying about the money. Financial problems are amongst the biggest stressors in the world, especially for single parents and I think being off work for 6 weeks will add unwanted stress to my mom's plate.
My mom will be having a double mastectomy on August 12th, 2024, and through the help of my community I was hoping to save enough money to help her pay for this very expensive procedure.
Your donations and prayers will enable my mom to focus on herself and help rebuild her beautiful body that is being so viciously attacked.
From the bottom of my heart, I ask that you share my mom's story! Every dollar and prayer is a victory. No amount is too small!
Thank you so much for your support, and God bless all of you!
