Hello! I am a member of Scouting in Norfolk and in 2026 I will be going on an incredible trip to Madagascar. This will include volunteering and working with Malagasy scouts, to benefit the local community in whatever way they need, as well as conservation work and exploring the island. Throughout my journey to Madagascar I will be attending six camps, to meet the other participants and plan our time while away.

As someone who is incredibly passionate about helping other people, the opportunity to volunteer for people who really need it is the chance of a lifetime. Not only will I be helping the local scouts in Madagascar, but by sharing my experiences with young people here, in and out of scouting, I hope to inspire them to seek out experiences that will push them out of their comfort zones and shape the rest of their lives. As a young person, I never thought I’d be capable of doing something like this, but with the support around me I was able to get onto the trip, and I’m so incredibly grateful.

This is why I’m asking for your help. The cost of the trip is £4500, and so I will be doing a large number of fundraising activities, craft fairs, bake sales, quiz and chip evenings, sponsored events and more, I thought I would set up a fundraiser as well, to help me reach my goals. The payment schedule for the trip is quite intensive, with goals of £250 every month, and in order to reach those goals I’ll have to spend a lot of time making and crafting things to sell. I thought that I would set this up so that if anyone isn’t able to attend any of my in person events, they could help me in this way.
