The 200 Jefferson Avenue Block Association, Inc., under the creative direction of Producer Travis Bivans, proudly presents, Bed-Stuy Renaissance”—a New York Fashion Week presentation dedicated to celebrating the rich cultural legacy of Bed-Stuy and raising awareness about the ongoing impact of gentrification community displacement.
More than a fashion show, Bed-Stuy Renaissance is a living tribute to the people, creativity, style, and spirit that made Bed-Stuy one of Brooklyn's most influential cultural hubs. It honors a time when neighborhoods were built on connection, artistry, and community pride—when local identity shaped the character of the borough and generations of families thrived together.
Designers inspired by the aesthetics and cultural movements of the 1920s through the 1990s will present collections that reflect the powerful relationship between fashion, art, history, and community. Through this visual storytelling experience, we aim to preserve and celebrate the traditions, creativity, and cultural expressions that have defined Bed-Stuy for decades.
Funds raised through this campaign will support the production of this landmark event, including:
- Permits and City Requirements — $5,000
- Entertainment and Sound Equipment — $5,000
- Event Production and Staging Equipment — $10,000
Your contribution will help transform Bed-Stuy's streets into a powerful platform for cultural preservation, artistic expression, and community empowerment. These resources will also enable the 200 Jefferson Avenue Block Association to continue producing impactful events that inspire, unite, and that uplift.
