Bedford-Sackville Minor Football Flood Relief
Donation protected
Hello,
I am writing this on behalf of the Bedford-Sackville Saints minor football association.
On July 21st and 22nd, 2023 our area was hit with massive rainfall and it impacted the operations of our minor football program. Our football field flooded, as well as both our equipment sheds and storage room in the bottom of the Bedford Leisure club. This lead to the loss of much of our on-field football equipment, (tackling bags/wheels/dummies, step over bags, footballs and coaches gear) as well as 2 of the 3 storage spaces where we can store our equipment.

We anticipate that both our sheds will need to be replaced as the water damage to them is severe. The tipped shed has mold and the bottom is destroyed. We cannot access the leisure club storage as that is also being gutted at this time. The one shed that is currently useable also now has leaks and every rain storm it collects more and more water.
We have insured the sheds and their contents, as well as the contents inside the leisure club. However, due to a flood clause in our insurance we could be facing a deductible of somewhere in the $25,000 range. We have lost about $10,000 in equipment alone, not to mention the cost to potentially replace the sheds. We are lucky to carry a good balance in our bank account, however having to use it for this reason would cripple our ability to run this season, as well as any future budgetary needs we made to replace player equipment on a yearly basis.
Due to this, we are reaching out to our football community and our broader community as a whole, to try and raise some funds to offset the costs that may be associated to repair our association and get us back to where we were at the end of last season.
Thank you for your support
