It was brought to our attention at the Maverick Talk Show on WPTM-FM 102.3 in Weldon, NC that our local firemen have been sleeping on mattresses that are over 20 years old.  The bedding is worn slam out and we as a community can not allow for it.  If the Roanoke Rapids City Council can't square the $9000 to replace 21 firemen's beds ... it's on us!!  20-year-old mattresses to lay their heads on to rest to save our family, homes, and businesses is a shameful travesty.  Please donate whatever you can.
