Help Sarah & Corey’s family grow!

Corey and I have prayed numerous prayers to expand our family, and after a long journey with doctor appointments and tests, we have finally decided to grow our family through IVF. This process is quite expensive, and we are reaching out now to our community for financial help. Family has always been super important to both of us. Throughout our relationship we have daydreamed about our future children and our deepest desires to begin a family, but we never imagined the struggles that we would endure.
Corey and I met after we both spent time away for bad decisions we made during hard times in our lives. Our relationship started out God-centered and recovery-driven which drew us even closer. Our love grows every day and I couldn’t imagine fighting this battle with anyone else.
In September 2015, I found out I was pregnant. The circumstances were unfortunate. I was on my way to prison for three years and I was shocked to say the least because I never imagined myself becoming a mother. I never thought it was possible. After my first ultrasound the doctors were not able to hear a heartbeat or see the baby in my uterus, so I was rushed to the hospital to undergo surgery for an ectopic pregnancy.
During the surgery they had to remove my right ovary and right fallopian tube. My chances of becoming a mother became even more slim. I woke up from that surgery alone and in tears knowing that if I didn’t stay clean I would never have a fighting chance at a family again. So from that day forward I dedicated my life to this mission.
Corey and I tried everything to conceive, multiple ovulation tests, standing upside down, taking temperatures, and many methods that still resulted in countless negative pregnancy tests. Each month that went by proving there was no pregnancy, I became even more hopeless and discouraged. Corey had enough faith for both of us on days where I felt like giving up.
In March, Corey went and got a sperm count done. When his test came back normal and perfect, I crumbled in my car reading the results. We stayed on the phone crying with each other knowing that whatever the results, it was going to be bad news. Unfortunately it was clarified that it would be almost impossible for my body to conceive. In December, we had our first consultation with Seattle Reproductive Medicine, and our doctor determined IVF would be our only plan of action.
IVF consists of so many things from procedures, doctor visits, patient monitoring, ultrasounds, genetic testing, egg retrieval, laboratory services, sperm preparation, embryo preservation and medications. The process would be for me to be on medication to produce more eggs from my only ovary and for them to extract them out with a needle and to take Corey’s sperm and fertilize the embryo and transfer it to my uterus in hopes of a baby or maybe even two! When speaking with the financial counselor through SRM, we discovered the transfer alone is $15,000 and the medication is $5,000. Although we knew the cost was going to be high we have decided as a family that it’s what we desire and what we will work hard to do.
We are now reaching out to family and friends whom I think might want to help and to those who have asked, “What can we do to help?” If you would like to help with a donation, we would be forever grateful! Any donation is neither too small nor too large. Every dollar helps. Thank you for taking your time to read our story.
Please join us by sharing this to help our family grow. Love you guys!
Sincerely,
Sarah and Corey Borden.
