Becky Needs Our Help After Heart Attack
Donation protected
For over 30 years my mother Rebecca Ratliff (Miss Ratliff, or Becky) has dedicated her life to teaching, taking care of, and inspiring our future generations. At one point or another she's probably taught or helped out you or your kids. Now we're looking for some help in making sure she has what she needs. She recently had a Silent Heart Attack (not her first) and was hospitalized for upwards of a week where they decided not to do a double bypass but instead opting for two more stents (bringing her total to 8). She's home now and resting up while taking on the difficult tasks of changing her lifestyle to give her more years to enjoy her retirement, time with her loved ones, and her grandkids.
You may know her from one of the numerous paid or volunteer jobs she's worked giving back to the community over her 60 years of living to include:
- 15+ yrs as Pine Ridge Kindergarten/Administrative Paraprofessional, Head of the Accelerated Reading Program, Book Fair Organizer, Student Drop off and Pickup Coordinator
- 15+ yrs as Troop & Pack Mom, Scout Shuttler, Treasurer, Secretary, Board of Reviews, and the Fundraising Coordinator for Boy Scout Troop & Pack 6
- 10+ yrs as Wesley Heights Elementary Paraprofessional & Head PTA Representative, Student Drop off and Pickup Coordinator
- 5+ yrs as Hannan Elementary Paraprofessional, Student Drop off and Pickup Coordinator
- 10+ yrs as a Stock Associate and Cashier at Big Lots
- Approx. 1 yr as Assistant Teacher at St. Luke Early Learning Center
- 2+ yrs as a Cashier at Walmart on Whittlesey
- 2+ yrs Coaching Youth Soccer
- 30+ yrs of being a Mother to two Redheaded Menaces
- Many years spent as a caregiver for her Husband, Mother, and Mother In Law until they passed away peacefully, thanks to her contributions in taking care of them, at their homes.
All generous contributions will be going to make sure her stress is reduced and she doesn't have to worry about bills. I currently live with and support her financially which can sometimes be difficult. We're working on an ongoing fight with the govt. to get her approved for disability (which has been unsuccessful so far) especially now that she has been hospitalized and hasn't been working for some months due to health issues.
Currently our biggest Goal is to pay off the remainder of her house (<8K) which is being purchased through my Grandmother's Estate. (It was supposed to be willed to her but the paperwork was never completed before my grandma passed) Once this bill is off our heads, we'll be better able to handle the rest.
Other expenses include but aren't limited to:
- Her Multiple medications she HAS to take
- Doctors Copays
- Finding her new insurance
- Heart Healthy Food
- Other Bills and Expenditures
Thank you So Much for all the love and support. If you can't donate monetarily we understand completely but would love it if you'd leave some kind words, a memory with Becky, or just well wishes for the next chapter of her life.
-Sincerely, Randy
