Becky, my wonderful sister in law has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer.
That one word. Cancer. It hits you like a brick wall. You don’t know if you are coming or going. You don’t know what type, what stage, how this can happen, if it can be treated or what the outcome will be.
As you can imagine it’s been emotionally, physically and mentally draining for all. One minute we are being told Becky only has months to live. The next they want to start chemo and she might live but no guarantees. Becky is a fighter. If anyone knows her, they will know she would do anything it takes to stay alive, for her, Paul and their beautiful children.
As a family we are taking things one day at a time. Paul has been the glue holding everything together. To go from working 2 jobs to staying at home has been a huge adjustment for them all.
The 3 kids have been so brave and strong. To watch their mummy go from being a happy healthy person to a shell of herself has hit them in a way no kid should ever witness. But nevertheless they have continued to smile and talk openly about their mummy having cancer.
Due to the uncertainty of their future right now they’ve had to cancel their family holiday for this year. With neither Paul or Becky being able to work, money is a struggle. Yes they will absolutely get help but this can take up to 3 months after diagnoses.
Within this time, the summer holidays are fast approaching and I’m asking if you would be able to help me raise some money. Money for them to make as many memories as they can. The 5 of them deserve to spend as much time together because we don’t know what the future holds.
I would appreciate any support. And I know Paul and becky would be blown away with any help towards having the best summer.
Thanks for reading.
Love Naomi xxx
