Beck Theatre Summer Youth Project 2024

On 19 June 2024, the Beck team will be jumping out of a plane at 10,000ft to raise money for the 2024 Summer Youth Project !

Charlotte and Steve will fly to 10,000ft in a small plane, and then jump. They will freefall for 30 seconds at 125mph, followed by 5 minutes of gliding (parachute depending).

The money raised will go towards the Beck’s Summer Youth Project (SYP), which provides an affordable activity in an inclusive environment for local young people aged 9-19 in the Summer holidays in a borough with one of the lowest cultural engagements in the country. Through learning the singing, acting, dancing and design for a show, our SYP will develop participants’ transferable skills and strengthen social ties in the local community, thus improving wellbeing, confidence and community cohesion, especially for those who traditionally have had the least access to the creative industries.

One of last years' partipcants said: 'We are a low-income family, and the programme gave my child the opportunity to do something she loves and gain valuable experience, often closed to us due to financial constraints. We owe you and your team many thanks'.
