Because No One Should Be Left Behind: Our Why, The 2026 Bridge Over Troubled Water Expansion Story

Some stories are hard to tell—but they are even harder to live.

Last winter, one of our longtime clients, a grandmother named Miss D, called Bridge Over Troubled Water with a quiet, trembling voice. She wasn’t asking for much—just a little help getting food after her recent hospital stay. Her legs were weak. She hadn’t driven in months. Money was tight, she was forced to choose between paying for life saving medication, utilities or food. As of late, food was what she had to sacrifice.

She whispered, “I’m not hungry, sweetheart… I just need a few things.”
But when our Care Coordinator stopped by, all she had in her kitchen were a box of opened crackers, a can of beans, a few cans of soup and a mostly empty refrigerator. No eggs, no milk, no orange juice if her blood sugar dropped suddenly. The frost covered, freezer burned meat in the freezer told us all we needed to know.

Miss D is not alone.

Every week, we meet families rushing between two jobs, parents skipping meals so their kids can eat, seniors choosing between medication and groceries, and people battling chronic illnesses with diets they simply cannot afford. Fresh food feels out of reach. Transportation is a barrier. Healthcare is out of sync with nutrition. And working families are exhausted—physically, emotionally, financially.

This is why 2026 must be a year of transformation.

Bridge Over Troubled Water is launching our most ambitious expansion ever—because the need is real, and our community deserves better:

Nutrition classes to teach families how to cook healthier on tight budgets
Fresh Rx partnerships with clinics and hospitals to give medically tailored produce to patients
Take-home meal kits for overwhelmed parents who want to serve real meals but lack time or money
Senior and disabled home-delivery routes so no elder in our community is left hungry or forgotten
A 2nd Bridge Over Troubled Water location to reach even more families
Increased Mobile Market routes to bring fresh food directly into poverty stricken neighborhoods and food deserts.

We’re not expanding a program—we’re expanding hope.

Because when Miss D opened her fridge after we delivered a week’s worth of meals, she cried with relief. She said, “I didn’t know who else to call. Thank you! God bless you! You are true angels on earth.”

Your donation says:
We stand with you. We care. We will not let you struggle alone.

This expansion will touch thousands of lives. It will strengthen families, improve health, reduce hunger, and build a more compassionate community—one home, one neighborhood, one meal at a time.

But we can’t do this without you.

Please give today.
For the senior citizens who shouldn’t have to fight to eat.
For the children who deserve fresh fruit and full plates.
For the parents doing their best.
For every neighbor who’s ever felt forgotten.

Help us build a future where no table is empty and no person is left behind.

Bridge Over Troubled Water is ready to grow in 2026—will you help us rise to meet this moment?
