Because Climbing Over 4 Carseats Isn't a Workout Plan

Why I'm Asking for Help

This year’s been full of changes—especially with my niece Catherine now living with us. She’s a toddler, like the triplets, so yep… we officially have four kids under four in the house.

We’re adjusting to new routines, new expenses, and trying to give her the love, care, and stability she needs. But with everything going on, this van repair just isn’t something we can cover right now.

I don’t love asking for help. But this van is how I get all five kids where they need to go safely—and at this point, the situation just isn’t safe anymore.

The Situation

Every time we load up the van, it feels like a full-on circus act. Five kids. One working door. I’m climbing over car seats, twisting, reaching, and ducking like some kind of ninja mom—but with less grace and more bruises.

This week, while trying to buckle in one of the triplets, I had to reach over Catherine. My foot slipped, I smacked my head on the car seat, and just sat there—tired, sore, and realizing I can’t keep doing this.

One sliding door is completely jammed shut. The other has a broken automatic system and is hard (and sometimes dangerous) to open. So right now, I’m squeezing everyone through one side and just hoping no one darts off while I’m stuck halfway in the van.

We use this van every single day—for school, appointments, church, groceries... it’s how we function. But this isn’t about convenience anymore—it’s about keeping the kids safe.

What We’re Hoping For

Our mechanic says it’ll cost about $2,000 to fix both doors. One needs a new actuator and labor, and the other might need more serious electrical repair or a new control module.

This isn’t a luxury—it’s something we truly need to keep going.

I’m hoping to raise the money to get both doors fixed so I can safely (and sanely) get everyone in and out of the car without injury or tears (theirs or mine).

Even a small donation would mean so much. And if donating isn’t possible right now, just sharing this would help more than you know.

Thanks for reading this and caring. We’re just trying to keep moving forward—one (safe) van ride at a time.
