Bebe's Place

Hi, My name is Jana, and I'm fundraising for Bebe (Billie) -She is one of my closest friends and most incredible supporters. She exudes love and has a special knack for saying just the right thing to young people to make them feel valued, special and cared for. She has housed many people throughout the 60 years she has been in her home. In addition, she has volunteered in her community, helping others with words of encouragement, food, shelter and personal care.

A few months ago, she had a "trip and fall" in her home, and during recovery, her primary caregiver, Raquel, her daughter, discovered she had cancer. So, of course, all of the people they have cared for, shown love and befriended came to help.

I saw how much their home could use ADA -disability access and safety upgrades.

The community kicked in! Several friends and family have donated! Cleaning, meals, nursing care and funds have come in. However, as work has started, we realized that the home also needed more love and attention. Several tradespeople and contractor friends have provided labor, yet some significant needs are ever-present! The roof, exterior and windows are threatening to undo any bathroom, floor and kitchen work that is being done. The house that has sheltered Billie, her family, and several others has more work to do, so we ask for the support to take this home!

The funds will be used to address all of the needed materials and supplies, plus any remediation work and costs not donated to renew the home. Currently, Billie and her daughter are relocated, and some funds will be used to cover this while we address the larger work needed on the home.
