Beautiful Liz: Single Mom and RN in Time of Need

Dear Friends,

Let me tell you about my amazing friend, Liz Cameron! I’ve known Liz since we were babies and we’ve been best friends since we were skinny little third-graders. She has been there for me (and so many others!) through thick and thin, and is one of the most generous, faithful, compassionate, and pure-hearted people I know.

Liz is a single mother to Gabe and works full-time as a registered nurse in Salem, Oregon. Liz has deep roots in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has had custody of Gabe since his birth, and he lives with her full-time. Liz has been in the throes of difficult custody/visitation proceedings for the past 3 years. Liz desires the best for her sweet and highly-sensitive 5-year-old son, Gabe. She adores Gabe with all of her heart and is the best mama, so in-tune with his needs.

Liz is currently at a critical juncture in court proceedings, and needs our help to finish strong as she contends for the emotional well-being of her precious son, Gabe. The money from this GoFundMe will go directly to Liz, and 100% of the funds will be used to cover legal expenses. The final court hearing is scheduled for mid-September, and then the attorney bills will finally stop rolling in every 10 days. She is so close to the end of this excruciating legal process.

Liz has been so strong, for so long, and except for basic living expenses is giving every dollar she earns to pay for legal fees. Despite the generosity from her wonderful family and handful of close friends, Liz is still in need of support.

It’s been hard to see my dear friend struggle over the past few years. Being a single mom is a monumental task in and of itself, and with the financial strain of legal fees and deep fears for her son’s security and stability, the stress of Liz’s everyday life is simply unimaginable. She is trusting God, and working hard, and still finds herself falling behind.

I ask her how she does it–how she keeps going when she is sinking deeper into debt and feeling like the water levels are rising. She replies that it is only by God’s grace. She keeps putting one foot in front of the other, doing the next right thing.
