Hello friends, family, and community,

My name is Aryan Saggar, and I'm a high school freshman in Walnut Creek, CA. I’m a proud member of Troop 808, and I’ve been involved in Scouting since 2nd grade. I’m also part of my highschool concert band as well as a band known as BD Winds, which is located in Pleasant Hill CA. I also love to read, play video games and ski. I'm currently working towards earning the Eagle Scout rank, the highest and most prestigious achievement in Scouting, and I need your support to complete my Eagle Project.

For my project, I’m working with the Shantidhaam Hindu Temple in Pittsburg, CA, a place of worship for my family and me. The temple is a non-profit organization and relies heavily on community support. My project will help beautify the temple grounds while also improving its functionality, creating a peaceful and welcoming space for all.

Project Overview:

I’ll be completing two main phases for my Eagle Project:

Phase 1: Clean up and Plant Flowers around the Temple Perimeter

What’s Involved: Removing weeds and planting various flowers, including Roses, Marigolds, Native Plants, and Ground Covers.

Goal: Beautify the perimeter, enhance the temple’s natural surroundings, and create a peaceful atmosphere for worshippers.

Materials Needed:

Phase 2: Build a Fence to Protect Sacred Trees

What’s Involved: Installing a 27 x 27 ft fence to protect four holy trees, which are essential for meditation and prayer. This will ensure that the trees are preserved and can be used by the temple community for spiritual practices.

Materials Needed:

The project will take place in two weeks, we will finish phase one on the first weekend and the second phase by the second weekend. The project will be completed by scouts in Troop 808 and by friends and volunteers from my school and temple.

Why This Project Matters:

This project will make a significant difference for the temple and the community. The temple heavily relies on donations, and this project will improve its beauty and functionality, attracting more visitors and providing a calming space for meditation. By protecting these holy trees, I’m ensuring that future generations can benefit from their spiritual significance.

As part of my journey to Eagle Scout, I’m asking for your support. I’m hoping to raise $1450 to cover the costs for the tools, and materials. Every donation—no matter the size—will help bring this project to life.
