Hi, we are Portchester ladies Petanque team and we are raising money for a special cause…. Down Syndrome. Our club is situated in Portchester Community Park and we have a lovely welcoming crowd. Each year we choose a charity and fundraise for them....This Year is Portsmouth Down Syndrome.

SO WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Our ladies team was formed this year and, we decided to set ourselves a challenge...a 17hr Petanquathon.....and this is where you come in!

We are seeking both challengers and sponsors for this fantastic cause.

BEAT THE LADIES – The Longest Day Challenge -Saturday 20th June | 5:00am – 10:00pm

On the day before the longest day of the year, our ladies doubles teams will be taking on all challengers for an incredible 17-hour Petanque marathon in aid of Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association.

From sunrise to late evening, there will always be at least one ladies doubles team playing on the terrain. We are inviting clubs, players, families, friends, and complete beginners to come along, support the event, and take on the challenge.

How it works

For a donation, teams or individuals can challenge the ladies to a 30-minute game. Whether you are an experienced player or have never picked up a boule before, everyone is welcome to join in. We will have coaches and club members available throughout the day to help beginners learn the game, making this a fantastic opportunity for people to

discover a new hobby in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Boule can be supplied, and you can challenge with a team of two, three or just challenge yourself. All teams play with 6 boule.

There will be plenty happening throughout the day including:

Homemade cake stall

Tea, coffee and refreshments

Fun “hinder the ladies game” options.

Guess the total points scored competitions

A great social atmosphere from dawn until dusk

Children are very welcome when accompanied by an adult, and there are no age restrictions.
