Want to join me in making a difference? On March 5th I will be participating in the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge. The challenge requires you to run or walk 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. It is designed to test your mental and physical fortitude but also provides a great opportunity to raise money for charity.  My goal is to hike each segment of the challenge with a 20lb Ruck on my back.  The weight I will carry represents the difficult burdens many carry with them day after day after day, like PTSD, isolation, depression, loss of hope, anxiety and  financial crisis to name a few.  While you follow me on this journey, let us think of those in our circle that could benefit from our compassion, empathy and connection.  Check in on your family and friends - even your strong friends.  Connection makes a difference.
As a family, we have decided to use this opportunity to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Unfortunately, like many others, our family has lost someone dear to us to suicide. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US, and with the pandemic, resources like the AFSP have never been more important. Our goal is to raise $2,000 before the challenge.
