Hello everyone! My name is Craig D. Logsdon and I am a retired 20 yr Navy veteran and I am shaving my beard completely off to benefit Honor and Remember which honors our Gold Star families. This is the third time I've shaven my beard for a military charity. The first time was for Team Red White and Blue and the second time was for No Dog Gets Left Behind. Please visit their sites and understand what their mission is. As a sailor I didn't know what it was like being boots on the ground and having to deal with the turmoil of war and the lost of a fellow servicemember or in any situation during their active duty service. I've met many people through the years after I retired that has lost a servicemember or spouse. When I was a runner, I participated in many events with Adam Dibble to remember the fallen even including Spartyka Nation with Jimmy Partyka. One that sticks out the most was MA2 Mayo who lost his life protecting the USS Mahan that was docked at Naval Station Norfolk. You can Google the story behind him. I've also been to many events where the Honor and Remember flag was presented to families or a spouse that lost a servicemember or spouse. Recently a few of my friends participated in the Virginia Run For The Fallen that recognized fallen Virginia servicemembers. As a retiree I still think of our past, current and future members of our Armed Services that put their life on the line to defend the very freedom we get to enjoy day in and day out.
