Pat Kuehner Bear Fire survivor needs YOUR help!
My grandma was one of the many who devastatingly lost their home in Berry Creek due to the Bear Fire of 2020.
Unfortunately, for the community of Berry Creek, the Bear Fire just did not get enough attention. Like many of the current residents on the hill, my grandma did not receive sufficient aid or insurance funds, she desperately needed to rebuild.
Anyone who knows Patricia (Pat) Kuehner, knows she is always there to lend a hand or share knowledge. To give some insight on Pat, for nearly 10 years, she organized, coordinated, shopped, and meal-planned the Community Christmas Parties. From what I can remember these were held at the fire station, where volunteers and us grandkids would dress up as elves and pass out presents to all the children, ages newborn to 18.
In 2010, she opened a concession trailer on her property and named it Pat’s Place. This united the community by everyone's love for food. Some may remember who competed in the burger-eating contest. I recall it was 8 patties with lettuce onion and tomato. Can anyone recall this contest? It was a great time for everyone.
Despite her many efforts to find help through CA grants, she has a great opportunity to finally get a HOME.
She is just $25,000 away. That is what leads us to the GoFundMe.
According to Bill Connelly, who is the Butte County Supervisor for Berry Creek, residents only have until June of 2025 to no longer ‘camp’ in trailers/RV’s on their OWN property.
This truly is not enough time.
That said, we are DESPERATELY asking everyone for help.
Without any support, my grandma will most likely have to leave her beloved property and community she's had since 1996. She has opened her home to many when they were in need. It is time for her to receive the support.
Please donate, share, and help us get this more than deserving woman a HOME.
We appreciate you all taking the time to read this.
