Hi, my name is Mariam, and I’m currently part of VIDES Canada, where I’ve been given the opportunity to serve abroad through a human rights and humanitarian mission connected to the United Nations in Geneva.

This is not simply a trip for me — it is something I deeply feel called by God to do. As a Catholic educator and advocate, I will be supporting work connected to human rights, dignity, justice, and awareness surrounding vulnerable populations and those whose voices often go unheard.

Right now, however, I am facing serious financial hardship and urgently need help to make this mission possible. Despite working hard and preparing for this opportunity, I do not currently have enough funds to fully cover the essential costs required for travel and living abroad.

The funds raised will directly support:

• Airfare and transportation to and from Geneva

• Housing and accommodation during the mission

• Daily meals and basic living necessities

• Local transportation to the human rights office and service locations

• Educational and advocacy materials connected to the mission

• Emergency and unforeseen expenses while serving abroad

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help relieve the financial burden I am carrying and allow me to focus fully on serving others, advocating for justice, and representing our faith community with compassion and dignity.
