Be Not Afraid, Doug Jessup

Donation protected
Doug has been battling brain cancer.  After three brain surgeries and countless treatments, his family could really use our help.

Doug is one of the best, one of the good guys.  We all know that, whether through our adventures in school, music, surf, skate, film, food, drink, or travel, or just sitting around shooting the breeze.  On a deserted island, you’d want Doug there.  He makes life better.  That’s why, after over 2 years of Doug fighting a brain tumor that has recently gone Stage 4, we thought it was time to start a GoFundMe to try to help make life a little easier for Doug, his better half, Morgane, and lil’ man Julian, who, at nearly 3, is probably already cooler than all of us.

Rewind: In August 2018, Doug had a seizure on the Fox Television campus in L.A. and was diagnosed with a Stage 2 glioma in his right frontal lobe.  That September he had surgery #1 to remove the tumor and began doing all he could to beat it down, all the while, learning to raise little Julian, who was born in December 2017, and build a family.  The tumor returned though, and on Mother’s Day 2020 in Costa Rica, Doug had surgery #2, Morgane and Julian by his side.  Recovery in Costa Rica was logistically challenging though, so Doug shifted to Richmond to begin chemo and radiation.  Doug soon began having unbearable head pain and, on July 30, 2020, had surgery #3 to relieve pressure in his head.

The entire time, Doug has been fighting like a champ, being the best dad and husband he can be, trading punk rock tracks with his buddies, mind-surfing far-flung waves (the ocean being his church), and spreading positivity.  His spirit has been awe-inspiring, embodied in his “Be Not Afraid” lion tattoo emblazoned with an arrow-per-surgery piercing the lion’s side, the lion proudly roaring along.

Please consider helping the Jessups by donating.  Doug, Morgane, and Julian could really use our help.  Three brain surgeries + countless treatments are unfathomably expensive, and Doug and his family could use all of the support they can get.  Every little bit will help make life a little easier on the Jessups and will help them focus on what matters most right now – their family and friends.

Other ways to help.  Everybody has their own battles and priorities, so, in lieu of a donation, we would be equally as appreciative if you would consider sharing this GoFundMe with your friends and family.  Or even just keeping the Jessups in your prayers.

Thank you so much.  Doug, Morgane, and Julian will be forever grateful for whatever support you can provide.
