I'm David. My friends call me Pez. My family is in a bit of a pickle. COVID hit us hard the last few years. Now our landlord is trying to evict us. We were on a program for covid relief but it ended and we were never notified since they dealt directly with the landlord. The landlord didn't notify us until three months after the last payment. I recently gained employment but it's only part time hours. After two years I've depleated my savings by paying rent three months at a time. We were given time to pay our monthly rent and the past due over a period. If we're forced out, we would have nowhere to go. Our children would be ripped from their schools and probably be living in a tent under a freeway. We came to Altadena to be close to my parents so they could be close to their grandchildren. Sadly, my father passed away right as covid hit and all was lost. My friend Tracy suggested this fund to possibly be able to stay close by. So I'm trying to stay here. We've built great relationships with our neighbors and great friendships. Anything would help our family to keep our home. I never thought I would need to sell everything I own but I would to keep our house. My dad always said that you have a handful of want. But what you need is more important. What I need is a warm place for my kids to stay. Anything helps. One Love.
