My name is Tim Maron and I am currently a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 300 in PA. I recently received approval for my eagle project and I am requesting support to help me achieve my goal. My eagle project will build a small house, approximately 550 square feet in size, for an economically challenged or disabled veteran or a veteran and spouse. The house will be built in Berwick, PA. I am partnering with the Columbia County Housing Corporation and the Veteran Affairs of Luzerne County for my project. The Housing Corporation donated the land for my project and will remain the owner of the land and the home. This will ensure the person(s) living in the house remains a veteran and that the house is never sold or demolished as long as the Corporation remains in action. They will also take care of the upkeep of the house. The candidate veterans will be selected by the VA and may be participating in the HUD/VASH voucher system. The VA will continue to meet with the veteran or couple who are chosen to live in the home to ensure  the criteria to stay in the home are met and to ensure the home does not get damaged. Once the chosen veteran meets the surpasses the criteria, a new veteran/couple will be moved in. Construction of the home is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2018. Between now and ground breaking, I will be working on obtaining the materials and funding needed to complete the project. All funds received will be used to fund the building of this house, please see attached pages. The support received for my project will mean a great deal to me and even more to the veterans being helped.
