"Look for the helpers."

Right now, millions of people are looking at a November filled with fear and uncertainty. Funding for our few social nets have been brutally slashed while more people than ever are struggling to keep their heads above water. The need for assistance has ballooned as SNAP recipients, federal workers, and active service members are added to the millions of people who are already doing their best to make ends meet (and aren't sure if they will).

People are going hungry and the resources to help them are shrinking fast.

It's easy to feel overwhelmed when faced with such an enormous problem; we're all just regular people, we can't fix it. But that doesn't mean we're helpless. We still have the power to come together and share what we have with our neighbors to help them keep going. We can still be the helpers Mr. Rogers asked us to find.

I'm raising funds for the Worcester County Food Bank. They are a bright light in a world rapidly getting darker and colder; please help support them so they can continue to care the ever-increasing number of our neighbors who are in need. For every dollar they receive, they are able to distribute four dollars' worth of food. By raising $5,000, we'll be making a $20,000 impact for our community.
