Hi guys! As I've been talking about my desire this year is to give an anomonous monetary Christmas gift to a man named Bill in our congregation who is financially challenged so much so that he can't even afford a mobile phone plan capable of keeping track of his bus schedule which he relies on exclusively for his normal transportation needs. He also faces other serious financial challenges as well as a few serious health challenges. Pastor Dave informed me that others in the congregation have taken note of his financial situation and have offered help to him in the past but he has humbly turned them down for various reasons. I'm hoping that an anonymous Christmas monetary gift will be better received so I'm planning to divert my normal Christmas giving to Bill and I'm asking anyone whose heart is so led to do likewise.

The biblical principal that has motivated me is that God is especially pleased when we give to those in need who cannot return in kind such as in the following passages: Luke 12-14, Matt. 5:46, Luke 6:32-36, Matt. 6:1-4. I encourage you to read and meditate on them, then ask God give you the desire to give that is consistent with their teaching.
