Blown head gasket

UPDATE: It's official, the car is a write-off. The repair quote was coming in north of £1,500, without any guarantee it would not happen again. Joel has scrapped the car and with that money and the donations, they were able to pretty much get themselves back to square one. They've been able to replace the car, and now we wait with baited breath to hope this one lasts a little longer...

Hey. If you know Joel you'll also know that he doesn't always have the best of luck with vehicles.

Joel also knows this, decided to be sensible and last month bought 2014 Ford Mondeo.

Last week, the head gasket blew.

He's had car troubles in the past, of course, but this one felt like a real kick in the teeth.

It looks like the repair bill could end up being significantly more than the car cost to buy.

I can't get over how unfair this feels, when you try and do the right thing, the adult thing, and then it still goes catastrophically wrong - and almost immediately.

I wanna try and get a little of money together to try and offset the repair bill.

Or, to put towards new car. As an aside, anyone got any experience of buying a car that doesn't suck?

So, I'm putting this out there to see if anyone else fancies chipping in a few quid?
