Support Eric: A Hero in Need of a Home
Donation protected
Hello all,
On June 18th, Chad– a man who was residing on Park Ave, came to Eric with stab wounds all over his body. He then motioned to Eric where the man who had stabbed him ran off to. Eric then ran after the assailant, and was able to tackle him onto the sidewalk. This altercation then caught the attention of NYPD officers nearby, who were then able to arrest Chad's assailant!
As the assailant was being arrested, a police officer actually thanked Eric, and told him that they had been looking for that man all day. Eric then learned that the man that he had tackled had injured, and killed two people earlier that morning.
I have read many superhero and good samaritan stories online. However, prior to moving to New York I always believed that superheroes were just fiction. After meeting Eric I realized that this courage and bravery is something that only your friendly neighborhood Spiderman would be capable of possessing.
I think it’s very important that he is recognized for his heroic action, and overall as a good samaritan in New York City! Eric is also currently in a very difficult financial situation. He continues to sleep on the street many nights alongside his adorable service dog Benji. He was not mentioned in the news, however if you would like to learn more about this incident I linked the article down below. He is currently working a job, however it has been difficult to fully support himself and Benji, given his living situation. I humbly ask that you reshare his story, and donate if you’re able/willing to. Your generosity will help him be able to afford a safe home for winter, and food for himself and Benji!

— Additional Verification Information for the Trust & Safety Team at GoFundMe:
- My name is Katiana, I am the one who is organizing the gofundme. I’m fundraising for my close friend Eric— the beneficiary.
- All funds are being used to supply basic necessities for Eric to live, as well as get back on his feet. The money donated is allowing Eric & Benji to eat regularly, have water, and pay for reliable public transportation. With basic survival covered, he can pay any required fees, for legal documents (i.e., official marriage certificate). These documents and certificates display credible qualifications that assist Eric in many ways. For example, his recently obtained marriage license helps, by legally qualifying him to receive assistance in a homeless shelter.
- As the organizer, I’m currently managing all donations at the moment. They are initially transferred to my own bank account, which I then send directly to Eric. With his current living situation, this method we chose is working out great for him. He continues to work hard and take care of his family. While he’s doing his job, I spread the word and send him any donations as they come!
