It's Ndindi's birthday this coming Sunday, May 24th, and she's asked that friends and family donate to our homeless outreach efforts here in Los Angeles. 100% of donations will go towards buying supplies for outreach!

Each week, we visit two encampments along Venice Blvd. in the Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles. At each encampment, we usually pass out meals and distribute essential supplies, while speaking with individuals about the challenges they face and how we can try to help them overcome them. The need for goods such as clothing, hygiene items, camping gear, as well as food and water are constant in “normal” times. The Covid-19 crisis, however, has exacerbated these needs by simultaneously reducing the supply of available goods (e.g. Salvation Army is closed so cheap, used clothing is harder to come by) and increasing demand for items such as donated food, illustrated by long lines at local food banks.

Since our efforts began in early April, we’ve given out approximately 540 meals, 24 tents, and countless other goods. This past week, however, we ran out of donated funds and are nearing the end of our supply of donated goods. This is why we’re asking y’all for funds and/or goods, whichever you can spare. Donating just $60 allows us to give someone who doesn’t have their own shelter a tent and sleeping bag, as well as a meal and water. Thank you very much for considering!
