I am completely disgusted that this custody battle has come to this, but I am asking for all of the help and prayers we can get.

My grandson was taken for a court ordered visitation by his biological father on June 4th. He was to return home several times by now and has not. My daughter and her husband, who was the only dad my grandson knew for 14 years, are struggling to make ends meet while working, caring for their other kids and paying for rental cars, travel expenses and court fees to try to get my grandson home where he belongs. He is 17 years old but he has Down Syndrome.

They attempted to keep him from her by making false allegations and filed for protective orders against my daughter. All of which were failed attempts to alienate us from my grandson. We went to his home with police and he refused to even let us hug him or speak to him and are telling him we are going to hurt him. The court order is a FL order which the GA police (where my grandson is being kept from us) stated that they could not enforce a FL order. Florida is refusing to give us a court date until my daughter and him have mediation. My daughter had to file for Emergency temporary custody in GA and has to again travel the 9 hours there to go to court next week. The kids are supposed to start school on August 10th and with everything that has been happening, I am asking for you to please find it in your heart to help us get her the funds to be in court next week and still care for her children's needs. She has to rent a van as her vehicle is currently not able to make the long trip and hotel costs anymore. She cannot afford a lawyer,she has spent over $17000 so far and contacted a news outlet.

This man, in the past abused my daughter and has now found another way to hurt her and her family. He was arrested for abuse and has since become a felon.
