Help Maddie

Hi my name is Carl I am a 77-year-old disabled Viet Nam vet I’m fundraising! for Maddie . Some eight years ago I meet and fell in love with a wonderful woman her name is Nancy I was introduced to her son Tod a good husband and father to 3 sons and daughter Lisa Prynn Nobel and granddaughter Maddie. Lisa had some problems in her past that seemed to have been. left behind her. Lisa was working as an office manager for Dr. Dave Nelson's audiology practice. Getting to know Dave over the years he was more than employer to Lisa. He was a father figure to Maddie and a great source of support to Lisa.

This story is about Maddie whose life has not been an easy one with a mother like Lisa. When Maddie was just two year's old Lisa went to prison the first time my Nancy stepped in and took over caring for Maddie and after a little over a year Lisa was released and resumed caring for Maddie. Then when Maddie was four Lisa again was sent to prison again and again Nancy took over for caring for Maddie . Once Lisa was released from prison, she again took over charring for Maddie. This all leads up to last year when Dr Dave discovered funds from his practice had been embezzled. the amount exceeded 1.5 million Lisa was terminated from her employment. Lisa then secured a job with St Amelias church where in just a few short months she embezzled a half a million dollars. My question who steals from a church? Lisa at that time had involved herself with Mike a fellow who had no knowledge of Lisa's criminal behavior. Upon returning from a Bills football game last fall they discovered Lisa unresponsive. Lisa was rushed to ECMC she pulled thru we then discovered in conversations with her then attorney. Lisa had a plea deal for her to serve 15 years in prison for the embezzlement from Dr Dave the appearance was to be the day after her attempted suicide. Once Lisa was released from the hospital, she has been on the run from the law ever since. Maddie in conversations with Nancy thought it would be better for her to remain in the care of Mike. Mike his neighbors Chris and Amy Mikes daughter's mother Bobbie all live in the same neighborhood they are younger it also allowed Maddie to remain with her dog Diggs named after one of her favorite Bills players. Everything went well for a while. With Lisa whereabouts unknown Mike and Bobbie 14-year-old daughter became frightened with thoughts and dreams Lisa would return and harm one of them. Mike called Nancy and told her about the situation. Hearing his voice, I could tell how hard of a decision it was for him. Maddie now lives with her grandmother and I she has been her a little over a month. Our plans are to return to western New York this summer for Maddie to finish high school and go on to college. Maddie will also be reunited with her dog Diggs who she misses every day.
