Help Baylee to get a wheelchair accessible van
Donation protected
Hello all, on the 27th of May 2025 Baylee's parents Melissa and Jordan met with a car modification occupational therapist after months of waiting in the hopes that they would get the great news that the current van they have to support and transport Baylee for all her needs would be able to be modified by NDIS.
This modification would support Baylee with her new seating requirements ready for school in 2026 and for many years to come. Sadly, and so disappointingly, this was not the case. Melissa and Jordan were informed that Baylee would need a wheelchair accessible van that will allow her to access the vehicle using her chair instead of being lifted in and out of her car seat, as they currently do.
As Bayley is now 4 and continuously growing, she is steadily growing out of her current seat which cost thousands of dollars and purchased from the USA as they did not have the right equipment to suit her here in Australia. Baylee is quickly growing out of the current car seat and the chairs is the only solution.
Melissa and Jordan have been told they will need in excess of $60k as a new van will have to be purchased because these modifications will only be authorized one new vehicle.
To help fund this, Melissa is trying to access her super but unfortunately this will not cover the full amount needed and only get her just under halfway to the 60k mark.
Melissa and Jordan are such devoted parents, never leaving Baylee's side and in 4 years of Baylee's life, always opting and striving to make Baylee's life better each and every day.
I ask that if you are able, to please spare what you can and help Melissa and Jordan get closer to getting a new van for Baylee and her daily needs for at least the next 8 to 10 years.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
