She is so bonded to us that she cannot be kenneled or separated; she once cried for hours at my work looking for her siblings. We fear she would die of heartbreak in a rescue. She feels safe and deeply loved here. She communicates through signs and a "velcro" devotion that keeps our family whole. Baylee has severe BOAS. Even after a partial palate surgery, she gasps for air and needs a nebulizer to breathe. Eating and sleeping are constant struggles. She is a patient at Papillion Animal Hospital, and we are working to get her to a specialist at Lone Tree. Her snorting isn't cute; it’s a battle for oxygen. She needs this surgery to stop the coughing and finally breathe freely. Surgery estimates are $2,500–$6,000. We manage our other dogs' needs, but this is beyond our reach.
