COMMUNITY SUPPORT NEEDED

A dear friend and long serving community member Sonia aka Battle Cat was involved in a serious car accident heading home from Blazing Swan. She survived after a short stay in hospital without serious injuries ( the gear packed on her roof racks saved her life). But the accident has rattled a lot of old injuries and she now will need a far bit off time to recover. Thank you to those who stopped at the accident scene and offered support and recovered her belongings. The past couple of years have been financially difficult for Battle Cat and she was not able to make her last car insurance payment leaving her now without a vehicle to get around. Battle Cat has volunteered for Blazing Swan for many many years ( I’m gonna say since 2017) , serving time on the committee, being a part of the effigy build teams and on the gate team both pre event, during the event ant at Recombobulation. She has also volunteered in year round roles organising schwag, t-shirts and patches for all Blaze volunteers. Many people have asked how they could help Battle Cat. I have started a Go Fund Me to get her back on the road and allow her some time to recover. If you can spare a few bucks to support Battle Cat it would make the world of difference to her.
