Battle Against Costly-Dangerous Hi-Voltage Cables - Nassau

Dear Neighbor,
Glen Head, Sea Cliff and Glenwood Landing are on the front line of a problem none of us asked for: three high-voltage, EMF-emitting power lines, a massive new substation, and additional underwater cables in Hempstead Harbor—collectively called the Propel Project. Similar cables are slated for Oceanside, Garden City, Syosset, Great Neck, and many other Nassau communities. In short, Long Island is being treated as a convenient conduit for a $3.26 billion power-export scheme that delivers few, if any, local benefits.
What’s at stake
Health & Safety: Continuous EMF exposure inches from homes, schools, and playgrounds.
Quality of Life: Months of lane closures—at just 150 feet of trenching per day—on Northern Blvd, Routes 106/107, Clinton Ave/Glen Cove Rd, Willis Ave/Mineola Blvd, and more.
Your Wallet: The $36 million-per-mile price tag will land on NY ratepayers—you and me.
Why we need you now
A core group of residents has already retained top legal and technical experts, but we’re facing billion-dollar corporations with deep pockets. This truly is David vs. Goliath—and David needs a larger slingshot.
How your donation helps
Legal Firepower: Strengthen our regulatory challenges and court filings.
Independent Experts: Fund impartial engineers to expose safety risks and propose safer routes.
Community Outreach: Print mailers, host town halls, and mobilize neighboring towns.
Media & Advocacy: Keep the spotlight on elected officials so they feel the pressure to act.
Give what you can—today
We are 100% volunteer. Every dollar keeps the fight alive and fair.
If 300 neighbors give $50, we cover a month of expert testimony. If 100 families give $250, we fund a full environmental study that can radically redesign this project.
We can only protect our homes, our children, and our future if we work together. Please stand with us and contribute whatever you can.
With gratitude and determination,
Save Nassau from Propel
Protecting Glen Head • Glenwood Landing • All of Nassau County
P.S. Can’t donate today? Forward this to three friends who care about Long Island’s health and safety. Spreading the word is priceless.
