Added pic of vanity unit we scored for $150. Thank you ❤️
G'day my name is Karl I'm 54 and for the last 15 years I've been a single dad/carer for my 28 disabled( ASD and Intellectually impaired) son Travis. Travis will always need some support or care , which I'm more than happy to provide until I'm either too old, too sick or just plain dead.

The house we are renting has been sold and the new owners are wanting to move in. With the housing crisis there is no way we will be able to find a new rental. Especially when out household income consists of the Carers pension (me) and DSP (Travis). While we have our names down for social housing. The waiting list is years if not decades long.
Our bank doesn’t do personal loans (yeah I know right) and other places don’t class dsp or carers as an income.

We have to opportunity to move into a friends place, who is graciously paying for a room to be built under the house for Travis to help give him a sense of independence that all young adults strive for.

To help him feel a little bit more independant and to help him learn about being that. Im wanting to build him his own bathroom. Nothing flash, just a shower, toilet and vanity unit that would be built just off his room.
I know its a lot but I'm trying to be the best parent and help Trav live a "normal" life as possible and him having his own personal grooming area would mean the world to him, despite it being another area I'll have to clean properly and I hate cleaning the bathroom at the best of times (haha)

As while Travis is disabled at his core his still a young adult and he misses out on all the simple things we take for granted. Eg-- He loves cars and going for drives but he will never be able to drive. He'll never have a girlfriend, he'll never have the chance to just get up and go to a mates place. Theres many more I could list but it breaks my heart when I have to list the things he cant do or misses out on.

So basically I'm asking you to help out a young disabled man to live a bit more of a "normal". Totally understand if you cant as money is tight for us all. Pls share and thank you for reading.
