On Thanksgiving day, Ricki, mother of 5, lost her battle with glioblastoma. After multiple rounds of treatment, Bessie (the tumor) did not go away. Here is where it all began:
The Bateman family was faced with a great struggle beginning in April 2017 as mother of five, Ricki, was rushed to the hospital for a severe migraine and it was discovered that there was a growth in her brain. This growth caused a seizure and forced an emergency C-section to deliver their new baby boy Tynan Bateman at 28 weeks (2 months premature). Ricki had surgery Friday, April 7th to remove the tumor, and underwent chemo/radiation/3 surgeries and experimental treatments.
Survived by husband Derek, former US Army Corporal, three daughters and two sons, they need our support as they navigate their way through this new stage of life without Ricki.
