Basic Shelter & Life Essentials for Cousin's Family in Gaza

My name is Fawzy Manaa, originally from Gaza but currently living in Mississauga (Canadian Citizen), much of my extended family including my cousins are still trapped in Gaza; this is an appeal for your help ahead of an unexpectedly harsh winter.

This description was written by my cousin Iyad, who is one of the beneficiaries:

We are three families—my family, my brother's family, and my mother’s family—currently displaced and living in dire conditions in Dair El Balah due to the ongoing war in Gaza. The situation here is increasingly difficult, and with winter fast approaching, our makeshift tents offer little to no protection from the harsh elements.

Each day is filled with uncertainty, as we struggle against the cold and the looming threat of rain and high winds. We are reaching out for your help to secure both basic shelters and essential support to survive these challenging times.

We are seeking funds to build three temporary shelters, each costing approximately $1,500. These shelters are crucial to ensure that we can find refuge from the severe winter weather. The metal frames and waterproof materials will provide protection, making it possible for us to live without the constant worry of the elements causing harm or discomfort to our families.

Additionally, our families are in urgent need of monthly financial support. Each family requires about $600 per month to cover essential daily life requirements such as food, water, clothing, and hygiene supplies. With the ongoing war, all members of our families have lost their jobs and have no income to rely on. This financial assistance is vital to help sustain us day-to-day as we navigate through this difficult period.

In total, we aim to raise 9,900 USD for this campaign, which includes:

• 4,500$ for the construction of three temporary shelters (1,500 each)

• 5,400$ per month to cover essential needs for the next three months (500 per family x 3 families)

This brings our overall goal to 9,900 USD to provide both immediate shelter and ongoing support.
