Barros Family Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Ashley and I've created this fundraiser for my brother CJ (Charles Barros) and his family, Jaime Barros (wife) and their two young sons Alex and Colton from Acushnet Ma.

On 2-4-2021 CJ was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, brain cancer, he was 31 years old as you can imagine, this was a life altering moment for everyone.
He received surgery February 16th, 2021 in Boston at Dana Farber.

The Family moved into our fathers/mother's rv/camper because Jaime is unable to work so that she can be with CJ 24/7. CJ at this point is suffering with incredibly painful migraines that cannot be treated (all treatments failed). New and increasing seizure activity.etc

As you can imagine trying to raise two kids and keep it all together watching the love of your life go through this is incredibly heartbreaking.

"My husband and I were married on Feb 13 of 2021. We rushed to get our wedding together in a week after learning the love of my life,Cj, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called Glioblastoma Multiform. On Feb 16th, 3 days after our wedding, he had his first brain surgery to remove the majority of his tumor. The general prognosis is 12-18 months, after multiple craniotomys, chemo and radiation. He has beaten the odds but is not doing well. His memory is very bad, he has left side weakness and is now in a wheelchair. Today, March 10th 2023, He had a shunt put in due to hydrocephalus.  He will probably need another brain surgery soon. He and I are inseparable, we do everything together, talk about anything and are absolutely goofy together. He makes me laugh everyday, he loves me and our babys deeply and I am soul broken that this is happening. I lost my job in 2020 due to covid and due to his diagnosis, I stay home and take care of him. So I just can not afford this on my own.
We have an almost 4 year old son together and an almost 9yo. Our dream is to make it to Fiji before he is too sick.  I want my family to have an incredible memory in a beautiful place with their Dad/Step-dad. As well as a honeymoon and dance on the beach for me and the man who showed me what love should be.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I appreciate every single penny donated more than I could ever express!"
"CJ's dream was to always go to Fiji"

I am writing this as I sit in the waiting room after they put his shunt in, running multiple test and the news on what's next. As you can imagine, being a woman and trying to pick up a full grown man and put him in a wheelchair outside of a camper is not the easiest task.  Jaime has been pretty much doing this alone. Any help on finding them a place where they can stay that makes more sense and help with anything from money to food to clothing or toys for the kids is absolutely helpful. Even a ramp maybe to help with getting him in and out of the camper.

Please share our story, get it out there, tell the world, broadcast on the radio, sponsor our family, we didn't ask for this. Cancer can kick rocks!!! Our family is broken. The prognosis is also heavy on our minds and I know the expense is astronomical.

Bluepoint Restaurant in acushnet has told us they will be holding a paint night and all the proceeds will go to CJ, we just don't know when yet.

I will post when I know.
