Barriers to Bridges Magazine

Barriers to Bridges Magazine, is an online publication for and about the most marginalised people and communities in society - providing a platform for and giving a voice to the voiceless.
Now more than ever, it is crucial that disenfranchised groups within society are given a platform, as human rights, civil liberties and people’s very wellbeing is under threat from the affects of corporate greed, amounting to an inherently downgraded position within the pecking order. Whether a person of no fixed abode needs their story heard; a refugee wants to speak of their journey; a person with additional needs highlights barriers of injustice or someone living off-grid writes of the simple advantages of living on the margins – behind any of these examples is a person, a situation, often overcoming insurmountable barriers, crossing bridges on a journey of hope or inspiration. The magazine aims to inform, educate and challenge inequality, as well as those in power who perpetrate it, while celebrating diversity in all forms. We are the first of its kind, independent and stress a ‘person first’ approach in a refreshingly progressive and forthright style.
Now that we have completed the bike ride fund raiser, raising just £85 we must continue to build upon any funds raised in general. So, please donate as much/little as you can afford which would enable commissioned articles for the magazine or form basic start-ups in growing into Community Interest Company (CIC) status as a not-for-profit social enterprise for a wide range of groups and communities including:
People with additional needs;
Single parents;
Those struggling with mental health challenges;
People from a working-class background;
Those facing gender inequality;
People who are homeless;
Those identifying as LGBTQ+;
People of colour;
Those who struggle with addiction;
People living off-grid or travellers.
Removing barriers of marginalisation, building bridges to empower communities.
