Baqa'a refugee camp for Palestinians ✌️

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Yousaf, you can see me on the middle of the picture I’ve uploaded. I’m from London, and I’ve never set up a GoFundMe before. But after my recent experience, something in my heart guided me and told me this was the right thing to do - so here I am.

I recently visited Baqa’a Refugee Camp in Jordan with the intention of giving charity. I therefore made it my mission to help in any direct way I could. By the grace of God, I was able to offer my support in small ways, but nothing could have prepared me for what I observed. We’ve all seen glimpses here and there; headlines, images, stories. We’ve heard about the tragedies. But no amount of news coverage or second-hand accounts can truly capture the reality of what these people live through every single day, and the aftermath of such tragedies. Unless you are the one experiencing it, you can never fully comprehend it.

But even just standing in that environment, seeing the conditions people were surviving in, feeling the weight of their struggles - it broke my heart. It was overwhelming in a way I can’t fully put into words. An experience that naturally brought me to tears, and broke my heart in many ways.

And yet, despite everything, what struck me most was not just the suffering, but the strength, kindness, and gratitude of the people. The children, the families, facing unimaginable difficulties, yet still full of hospitality, generosity, and warmth. It was humbling. It made me realise how much we take for granted. I left with an overwhelming sense that I needed to do more.

While I was there, I met Abu Ahmed, one of the leaders of the camp. He is a father figure to so many Palestinian refugees, dedicating his life to helping those around him. In the picture I’ve uploaded, he’s the man standing to my left. The man to my right was a driver who helped transport donations to families who had lost loved ones and were in incredibly tough situations. I may not remember his name, but I remember his actions, his kindness.
The last picture I’ve uploaded is of Abu Ahmed’s son - a young man who is following in his father’s footsteps, continuing the mission to help others.

Since returning, I have kept in direct contact with Abu Ahmed. He has no idea I’ve set this up for him and the people of Baqa’a, but in his mission to help others, I want to do the same. And I hope you can join me in this.

There are so many amazing charities and organisations working tirelessly to help those in need - may Allah reward them for all their efforts. But sometimes, by the time donations reach the people, funds are spent in different places, and there’s always uncertainty about how much actually makes it to those who need it most. This is different. This is direct. Every single penny will go straight to the people at Baqa’a Refugee Camp, ensuring they can have a happier Eid, a moment of relief, a reason to smile and experience some joy.

In our privileged lives, £1 or £2 might not seem like much, but for them, it’s everything. Let’s come together and make a real difference in a way we can be certain will directly reach those who need it most.

Thank you so much for reading, and may God bless you all. ✌
