Northern Bangladesh has been struck by a catastrophic flash flood caused by the overflowing Teesta River, affecting thousands of already vulnerable families in areas like Gangachara, Kaunia, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, and other Upazilas of the Rangpur division. These communities, where most families live below the poverty line, have been left devastated, and they are in desperate need of immediate help.

For families in these flood-hit areas, survival was already a daily struggle. The majority of these households had no reserves of food or basic supplies due to their impoverished conditions. Now, with homes and farmlands destroyed by the floodwaters, they have lost the little they had. There is no stored food, no access to clean water, and no relief reaching these isolated areas. Entire villages are submerged, and the people of Gangachara, Kaunia, and nearby regions are being overlooked by aid efforts, leaving them to fend for themselves in this dire situation.

We urgently need your support to provide critical recovery assistance to those affected by this crisis.

We are focusing our rescue and relief efforts in Gangachara, Kaunia, Lalmonirhat, and areas affecting nearby Rangpur district, as there’s reports of these communities are not getting enough help. For immediate help we are focusing on providing, food and medical help to these communities.

We are a group of Bangladeshi students, professionals, and immigrants living abroad raising funds for our trusted nonprofit partners and volunteer networks in Bangladesh. Muhtasim Zisan (another trustworthy partner and founder of Cholo Swapno Chui) will manage relief distribution to flood-affected areas.
