In 1999, Ballisodare Tidy Towns fundraised, bought and erected the Christmas Street Lighting in the village for the first time. For a quarter of a century these lights were treated with care and attention by the Christmas Street Lighting Committee. Repairs were carried out in the worst of weather and regular maintenance ensured they remained in use for 25 years.

However, the years have taken their toll and with the advent of LED bulbs the Committee have decided to invest in new street lighting.

The Christmas lights bring a festive cheer to the village and foster our community spirit. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere which is especially comforting during the long winter night. We are asking you to support our fundraiser by sponsoring a bulb for €5. Lets keep the village lit!
