Welcome to Ballers Against Bigots!⚽️️‍⚧️

Recently, the University of Cambridge made the decision to effectively ban trans people from competing in sports at both college and university levels. This policy impacts all athletes who believe in inclusion, stripping trans people and our allies of vital spaces for sport, community and belonging.

Ballers Against Bigots is a grassroots football tournament created to reclaim our place on the pitch and raise funds for organisations fighting for trans inclusion in sport and supporting trans livelihoods in both Cambridge and London.

Money raised from this tournament will be split equally between two organisations:

Homme FC

Homme FC is one of the first football clubs in history created for transmasculine people, as well as a wider cultural organisation championing trans artistic and cultural contribution. The club creates safer and more accessible opportunities for transmasc players to engage in fitness, build community and access support.

Beyond a football club, Homme FC has become a place for friendship, emotional support and the exchange of resources for gender affirming care.

Homme FC is currently fundraising to sustain the club through its second year and beyond. Funds will go towards securing consistent pitch bookings for the coming year (no more having to take the last slot of the night because cis men have booked it all), hosting events for its growing and loving community, and covering administrative costs for a team predominantly run by trans people of colour.

Trans Liberation Cambridge

Trans Liberation Cambridge is a local organisation fighting for trans rights, liberation, and community care across Cambridge. Through mutual aid, political organising, advocacy and community support, the group works to build a safer and more sustainable future for trans people in the city.
