BALI BAGUS PROJECT

Donation protected
Our mission at BALI BAGUS PROJECT  is to supply relief packages to individuals and families throughout Bali who have been impacted the most by the COVID-19 pandemic and are currently unable to provide for their own food.

With almost 80 percent of Bali’s revenue stream dependent upon tourism, the impact of the pandemic and the global halt of tourism has been catastrophic for it’s population of 4 million people. Unlike in the Western world, the majority of people in Bali live day-to-day or month-to-month, earning only a couple hundred dollars a month with little to no savings to fall back on. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of people are without work as almost all hotels, restaurants, travel companies, and beaches have closed. They are struggling to provide food for their families and are going hungry at unprecedented rates. For the 170,000 Balinese living on less than $2 a day, there is no Plan B. With government assistance nonexistent, these families are dependent upon the generosity of others to survive.

As someone who uprooted her life and took a major leap of faith leaving behind the comforts of the western world to move to Bali 8 months ago in search of a more simple life, I feel compelled to help and give back to this magical place and community that I now call home. When asked what I love most about this island, although as tempting as it is to say the epic year- round surf, my number one answer is the people. It is one of the only places I’ve visited in the world where kindness, compassion, positivity, spirituality, graciousness, and community prevail. Even during this time of immense financial strain, I’m humbled by the way in which the people here, even those who don’t have much, are uniting to provide for the less fortunate and to ensure that as many people as possible make it out on the other side of this pandemic.

For just $15 USD / 230K IDR, you can provide a family of four with the essential food needed to last one week. Each BALI BAGUS PROJECT package will contain the following items: 10kg rice, 1 crate of 30 eggs, 2 liters of cooking oil, 20 packets of mie (instant noodles). We will be working with the local banjars and community leaders in the Karangasem region to identify the families in the most immediate need and to distribute the packages according to highest priority.

We know that this is a challenging time for our world and many people across the globe are in need, so our goal is to come together to provide support and hope for families throughout Bali. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and put to the utmost use. If you are not in a position to donate but feel compelled to spread the word to others who may be able to do so, please share on social media.

Thank you, Suksema andTerima Kasih.
