Bakersfield Veterans For Houston

The most powerful hurricane to hit Texas in decades struck on Friday, damaging and destroying hundreds of homes, apartments, businesses, churches and government offices. The storm has stalled over the southern portion of Texas creating wide spread flodding, destruction and much greater concern for health and safety.

Local veterans from Bakersfield, CA are answering the call and driving out to help in any way that we can. For us, the mission never ended when we came home from duty. We will use the skills we learned while serving and our selfless service to our nation to lend a hand.

We intend on leaving no later than Wednesday night and have boots on the ground for 7-10 days.

Our group is in direct contact with friends and men we served with who have been effected by the storm.

Any contribution to help in our transportation costs would be greatly appreciated.

Funds will also be spent on materials needed to help us complete our tasks helping anyone that we come across. Funds will also help pay for water and food for ourselves and people we come across who may need assistance.!

We do not feel comfortable with asking for last minute assistance, however our desire to help our fellow Americans outwieghs our pride.

Thank You.
